The Christison Story
Christison Company was founded by Douglas B. Christison in January 1981 to continue providing services to common interest residential homeowners associations and builders. Prior to establishing the Christison Company, Mr. Christison had been a key individual in the consumer interests of this industry. He was one of the original founders of the Executive Council of Home Owners, an organization established in 1973 by volunteer unpaid directors of homeowners associations. Mr. Christison was elected as ECHO’s first President and first Executive Director. In 1976, Mr. Christison was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown’s administration to serve on the Department of Real Estate’s Subdivision Advisory Committee.
In addition to ECHO and the Department of Real Estate participation, he has served as a co-founder of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the Community Association Institute (SF-CAI), the California Legislative Action Committee (CLAC) of the Community Associations Institute, and the California Association of Community Managers (CACM). In his capacity with these organizations he continues to participate and has participated as State Chair of CLAC, President of SF-CAI, Chief Financial Officer of CACM, National Director of Community Associations Institute and a trustee of the Community Association Research Foundation.
